Who we are

Chiang Mai Gate (chiangmaigate.in.th) is an independent directory of places in Chiang Mai, operated by Agenmation OÜ, a company registered in Estonia (registry code 17524457, Järvevana tee 9, 11314 Tallinn, Estonia). What we collect when you browse

We collect anonymous usage statistics, such as pages viewed and buttons clicked, to improve the website. Places you save and your language choice are stored in your own browser. Maps are provided by OpenFreeMap and OpenStreetMap. Like every website, our servers and network provider process technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and prevent abuse.

Cookies

We only set cookies that are strictly necessary: a session cookie when staff or business owners sign in, and a security token that protects forms. They are not used for tracking or advertising, so no consent banner is needed for them.

Businesses, owners and staff

If you register as a business owner, list a business, claim a listing or have a staff account, we process your name, email address, optional phone number, the business details, photos and videos you submit, your messages to us, and a record of changes you make. When you register or reset a password we send a one-time code to your email address; we keep the code only in a protected form and only until it expires. We use this information to verify and publish listings, contact you about them, keep the directory accurate and protect the service. Passwords are stored only as secure one-way hashes. Photos and videos you upload must be yours or used with permission; they are published with the credit you provide.

Directory data

Many listings start from open data: Overture Maps Foundation (CDLA-Permissive-2.0, with per-source notices kept with each record), OpenStreetMap contributors, Wikidata (CC0) and Wikimedia Commons (photos credited on the page). Listings describe businesses and places, not private individuals. If a listing about your business is wrong or you want it removed, contact us or claim the listing.

Legal basis

We rely on legitimate interests to run and secure the directory, measure its use anonymously and publish business information; on the steps needed to provide an account you request; and on consent where the law requires it. This notice is intended to meet the Thai Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

How long we keep data

Submissions and claims: 24 months after a decision. Owner and staff accounts: while the account is active and 12 months after it is closed. Activity records of listing changes: 36 months. Email codes: until they expire (30 minutes). Anonymous visitor codes: about two days. Aggregated statistics: indefinitely, because they contain no personal data.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We use service providers to run the website: Contabo GmbH (hosting, data centre in France), Cloudflare, Inc. (network and security), and Zoho (email). They process data only on our instructions. Data may therefore be processed outside Thailand, in the EU and in other countries, with appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, receive a copy of it, object to or restrict its use, or withdraw consent, by writing to [email protected]. We reply within 30 days. You may also complain to the Personal Data Protection Committee of Thailand or the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon).
